Plan A Las Vegas Vacation To Suit Any Style

By Adriana Noton

There is a misconception that a Las Vegas vacation has little to offer aside from drinking and gambling. Sin City has come by its nickname rightly but visitors will find there is actually a lot to see and do. Sitting at a slot machine and sipping free cocktails is certainly an option, but there are other ways to pass the time.

The major casinos manage to pack everything vacationers could possibly want under a single roof. For those who are content to stay put, transportation will not even be necessary. Dining options include grand buffets, 24-hour cafes, fast food stands and fine dining establishments. Gamblers will find all the usual table games, thousands of slot machines and often a poker room.

Visitors who want to explore the city have several ways to do so. Vehicles of all kinds may be rented from vendors at the airport or one of the many companies that leases specialty cars. The casinos offer free valet parking but guests should be prepared to wait in lines, especially during busy weekends. The city bus system covers the entire Strip area in addition to downtown. Double-decker buses offer riders a great view of the surroundings.

If budget allows, a helicopter ride over the Strip offers spectacular views of the city. Tour companies offer flights that vary in duration and distance. A night flight is even more breathtaking with the neon lights spread out below.

Thrillseekers can find a number of activities to get excited about. There are places to ride roller coasters, drive race cars and skydive indoors. The truly brave can ride a zipline downtown underneath a canopy of lights. Nearby national parks have spectacular scenery and interesting red rock formations to explore.

Summer vacations can include a day at any of the numerous pools. Rules vary from place to place. Some allow hotel guests only while others are open to the public for a fee. Most are family friendly but there are a few that allow adults only. Many have special features like waterfalls, water slides and wave pools. Weekend parties catering to the college and young adult crowd offer live entertainment, bikini contests and an overall festive atmosphere.

Vacationers looking to be pampered can book an appointment at a day spa and enjoy a massage, facial, or alternative treatment. Full service salons are located inside many resorts and offer pedicures, manicures, haircuts and styling services.

Avoid the crowds by heading off the Strip in either direction to one of the small properties. This is where the visitors can mingle with genuine locals. The smaller casinos will usually have cheap drinks and food and all the same gambling options but with lower limits. These are good places for the casual gambler to hang out and get a feel for how to play the various games. Families on vacation can visit the local casinos to go bowling, playing video games and see first run movies.

Shopping is another popular pastime whether searching for tacky souvenirs at the discount mall or designer merchandise at the high end boutiques. Luxury shopping malls are attached to most of the bigger resorts.Be sure to have your caa insurance ready as well.

It is possible to customize Las Vegas vacations to fit visitors of any age. Regardless of budget or interest, there are exciting activities to fill a long weekend or an entire summer vacation. Be sure to have your caa insurance ready as well.
